No quantity of words can sum up any person. If you want to know me, the best way might be to know how I think, yet those can be dark places void of any detail. At the same time, we should just dive in. Now you know the internal battle raging in my mind followed by lots of second-guessing and pessimism.

Simply, I am an ocean of color and how deep you go will determine the color of me you see. With that in mind, I will walk you through the shallows where it is bright and safe.

I am the only son of two parents with four sisters. I am the second youngest of the family. My raising up was on a farm and being homeschooled until 7th grade. During the summer, the family moved to a cabin on Bluedog Lake in Waubay and returned to the farm in mid-fall, this has been the pattern of life since I can remember.

The odd child of the family, I did not like physical labor, never enjoyed hunting, sports were a no, and even though I was the only son, I did not want to farm. What I did enjoy was video games, computers, reading about science, watching movies, and going to school. In school, my favorite subjects were math and science.

When I graduated in 2015, I pursued a career in engineering. To do so I went to South Dakota State University for mechanical engineering. The first semester did not turn out well and so when I returned to the university for the second semester I had changed to an English major with an emphasis in creative writing. Sadly, and not to get too deep, I dropped out within the first month and returned home. The next two years I became a substitute teacher at my local school. After that, I came to Lake Area Technical Institute as a graphic designer.

My ocean is not as vibrant as the one we are all familiar with, ask me and I might call it the twirling, dirty yet colorful, noisy, and repetitive washing machine of life.
